Frequently asked

What is Kayd, and why does it say "by Ayuuto"?

Kayd is a mobile app that helps you and your friends or family run a rotating savings circle (also called a sou-sou, ekub, hagbad, tanda, or ROSCA). Kayd is built and operated by Ayuuto, the company behind ayuuto.ca. The app is named Kayd; the company that makes it is Ayuuto. Same team, same product.

Does Kayd hold or move my money?

No. Kayd is a coordination tool, not a financial service. Your circle continues to pay each other the way you already do — Interac e-Transfer, cash, bank transfer — and you mark your contribution as paid in the app. The recipient confirms when funds land. Kayd never has access to your money.

Are there fees?

No. Kayd is free to use. There are no transaction fees, no membership fees, and no payout fees. We don't take a cut of your circle.

How do I create a circle?
  1. Tap the + icon on the Circles tab.
  2. Pick a contribution amount and a frequency.
  3. Decide payout order: random, fixed (by join order), or set by you as host.
  4. Invite members by sharing an invite link or a 6-character short code.
  5. Once everyone has joined, start the circle. Round 1 opens immediately.
How do I join a circle someone else created?

If you got an invite link, tap it on your phone — Kayd will open and walk you through joining. If you got a 6-character short code, open Kayd, tap "Join a circle" on the home screen, and enter the code.

Someone in my circle hasn't paid. What now?

First, give it a day — many people pay on the day a round opens. If a contribution is still missing, the circle host can open a dispute on the round. Both members can leave a note. The host then resolves the dispute.

Kayd records the dispute and the host's resolution, but it has no power to recover the money. If a member refuses to pay despite the group's expectations, that's a question for your group, not for Kayd.

What is a trust score?

Every member has a trust score that reflects their on-time contribution and confirmation history across all the circles they've been part of. The score is informational only — it's not a credit score and is not shared outside Kayd.

You earn trust by paying on time and confirming receipts promptly.

How are notifications used?

Kayd sends push notifications only for things you need to act on:

  • You've been invited to a circle.
  • A round has opened or closed.
  • Your contribution is due soon or overdue.
  • A contribution you submitted has been confirmed or rejected.
  • A dispute has been opened or resolved.

You can turn off push notifications in iOS or Android settings, or in the Kayd app's profile screen.

Which sign-in methods does Kayd support?

You can sign in with Apple, Google, or email + password. If you sign in with Apple and choose Hide-My-Email, that's all Kayd ever sees — your real Apple email is never shared with us.

How do I delete my account?

Two ways:

  1. From inside the app — open ProfileDelete account. You'll be asked to confirm. Deletion is immediate.
  2. By email — write to support@ayuuto.ca from the email address tied to your account. We'll process the deletion within 30 days.

When you delete your account, we remove your profile, push tokens, and personal information. We may keep anonymized records of closed circles so the audit ledger remains intact for the other members of those circles, but those records will not identify you.

Details: see Section 5 of the Privacy Policy.

I want a copy of my data. How do I get it?

Email support@ayuuto.ca from the address tied to your account. We'll send you a portable export of your account, circles, and contribution history within 30 days.

Is Kayd available outside Canada?

Not yet. Kayd currently launches in Canada. We may expand to other regions later — keep an eye on ayuuto.ca.

I think I found a bug or a security issue. Where do I report it?
